Veterinary Assistant
Lawana became a veterinary assistant on our team in December 2023. She loves that each day at the Ark brings a new learning experience and says she enjoys seeing the diversity among pets and owners.
Lawana finds herself interested in animal pathology and exotic/avian care. She tends to her family’s poultry and is exploring beekeeping. Among Lawana’s fifty-three birds, her three favorites are Cotton, her guinea fowl, Nillar, her hen, and Gandalf, her turkey, all of whom enjoy cuddles and attention.
Lawana is a nature lover and enjoys spending time hiking and gardening amongst her plant collection. She and her shepherd, Fergus, frequent the dog park, where he likes to run. In her free time, Lawana uses her creative side to paint animal portraits and make homemade candles and soaps.
